Located in a beautiful, residential neighborhood, the International Student Center (ISC), is a landmark brownstone, located in Manhattan on the Upper West Side. As a small and centrally located hostel, you'll find charm, comfort, and convenience here. We are a ½ block to Central Park, restaurants, cafes, shops, and the subway. Museums, iconic sites, food markets, and other amenities nearby. Depending on your preference and budget, we offer several room types: mixed dorm style rooms, small private rooms, and a family/friends private suite.
Our newly refreshed common areas include: the Reception Room, Arts for PEACE Gallery, Lounge, Dining Area, Community Kitchen, and Garden.
We welcome students, lifelong learners, and world travelers, from near and far. One of the absolute best parts about staying in a place like ours, is getting to make new friends from corners of the world. Whether traveling solo or with a group, you are welcome here.

Had great roommates, which had a big impact on my stay.
It’s a great location for a good price. The house is really old thou, which you can tell by just waking inside. It’s as clean as a old house can be. Nice and helpful staff. Would absolutely stay again!

This is a fantastic hostel! The atmosphere is great, and you fit right in with the other guests given the close age ranges. It’s quiet and calm at nighttime, and the staff’s really kind, welcoming and informative. You have close access to two subway stations, so you can easily get around. Central Park’s right outside too! A downside is the creaking when going around in the building. But, I recognize that there isn’t much that can be done about that. Still a great place - highly recommended!

Good location, met nice people, the girls working there were also nice. Old house but charming. No locks to the rooms and no lockers. Wifi only in common areas. No bed lights/chargers by the beds. Cheap for New York so you can put up with some inconveniences.
