This was at least my fifth stay at Hostel Don Nino. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hostel is clean and well maintained. A lovely public park - Parque El Llano - is directly across the street, and is a delightful place to walk or sit and people-watch. It is in a very safe neighborhood, and is walking distance both to the ADO bus station and to the scenic places to visit in downtown Oaxaca. I shall return.

This hostel might have been good years ago with all its good ratings.
But right now it’s awful. No atmosphere at all, bland beige colourings with rules plastered all over the walls.
Morning receptionist only able to point to rules and very unhelpful.
Very dark rooms with no natural light as windows face into the building.
Toilets are down stairs far away from dorm rooms too.
Would not recommend. Plenty of other better options.

Our two bed room had only one bed and we were charged for an extra one to be brought in during a holiday where there were likely no other available options. Water coolers were empty for a day of our stay which means throwing away more plastic bottles.
