THIS IS NOT A HOSTEL. I wanted a private in a hostel but this is just a hotel. I was traveling alone and so I paid a bit more for the place than I might find on Airbnb or hotel booking because I was hoping to make some other solo travel friends to hang with in Merida. This is the main reason for my low review.
The location is pretty great. Close to the main square. The hotel looked a tad rundown but was cleaned daily. Water not always cold but that's normal. Be kind to the staff and it's fine.
