A 30 minute hike down an ancient Mayan pathway leads to our beautiful and secluded little piece of paradise. At Ch'i Bocol Community Hostel we have a full service restaurant and bar, a nice common area with several hammocks and other comfortable seats, and amazing company. We pride ourselves in making you feel at home, no matter where you are from and how far you have traveled to get here.
All of our accommodations are private or shared cabins which are spread across a 2 acre piece of land. They are quite spacious and comfortable, with several windows to let the cool breeze in. Our dorms include lockers for all of your valuables, and all cabins include power outlets to charge your electronics.
Ch'i Bocol Community Hostel is located deep in the heart of the Guatemalan jungle, with a creek on one side of the property, and the beautiful Cahabon River on another. Only a few minute walk from our cabins is a natural swimming pool on the edge of a beautiful waterfall.

This place is definitely a hippie hostel, in a positive way. Mike is also great!
Pros:
+ free pickup from Lanquin and a ride with amazing views
+ free drinking water
+ close to the river to take a swim
+ tubing back from Semuc Champey was definitely a highlight
Cons:
- the hike from the road is not easy with big bags
- have to plan if you wanna make your own dinner. The chef is using basically everything for hours when making the communal dinner.

We absolutely loved our time at Ch'i Bocol hostel! If you want an adventurous, off-the-beaten-path experience truly in the jungle go! After a long day of travel and a hike to get there, the first thing the manager, Esteban, asked us when we arrived is what our greatest need was at the moment - (food, water, to sit down, shower etc). The staff took great care of us and made us feel at home! They also made us delicious meals! Note the management change so don't be scared away by prior reviews!

this was definitely my fav hostel ive stayed in so far. Its definitely a trek to get to, but as long as youre in contact with the hostel (through whatsapp they respond really fast), its super easy. The staff is super nice. The food at the hostel (very yummy) is vegan. Wish i couldve stayed here so much longer it was an awesome experience
