very good location. walking distance (15-20min to subway). overall, good place to laydown after a long day wandering around the city. i guess that this is more because of china, but staff and the hostel lodgers were usually not that sociable. be prepared that that the majority of public toilets in the city will be squat ones!

the iced tea I paid 5 RMB for I could have gotten for 1 RMB around the corner
the women behind the counter were consistently sullen and slow to respond - I asked one her name and she refused to give it to me because she knew she had been obnoxious; they give new meaning to the name "Hostel worker".
the squat toilet was awful - that horrible ammonia smell was so strong it got stuck inside my nose so for three hours everywhere I went smelled like toilet; disgusting
