Casa de Grethel, is a beautiful house in the peninsula of San Miguel (Tayazal). The hostel has all that you need for enjoy your days in Flores, Petén. If you like to walk you can do it around of Tayazal and visit a small ruin, public beach and have a complete view of Flores, San Andre and San Jose. The property offers you a complete kitchen, dining outdoors, exercise machines, Wi-Fi access and Netflix. Breakfast can be served daily upon request.

We stayed in Casa de Grethel for five nights, instead of three as we were supposed to do. The place is amazing! The hostel staff is so sweet, the view from the hostel is perfect and you get free boat-shuffles to the main island. The beds are comfy and the breakfast is nice! I would love to go back!

We stayed in a private dorm as it was super cheap. Really clean and nice hostel, pics don’t do it justice. Staff were very friendly, cheap and tasty food available at the restaurant. You have to get a boat across to the hostel but the staff are always around to give you a lift and it’s very quick. Recommend

It is a bit of a faff having to get a boat taxi over to casa Grethel, when we came back to Flores we made sure to stay on the island close to everything, the staff were quite unwelcoming and they took photos of us when we checked in but did not explain why. Manager charged us for the private we booked and then tried to put us in a dorm. The bathroom and the bedroom were quite run down and didn’t feel very clean. Fine enough for the price but have definitely stayed in nicer places.
