Welcome to the Flaming Kiwi!
We are situated 5 minutes walk to the town centre and 3 minutes walk to the supermarket.
We are friendly, cozy hostel with lots of great stuff for our guests to enjoy! Take our bikes (free of charge) for a cycle around the lake, borrow some of our Frisbee golf discs and try them out at the Queenstown Gardens course, or indulge in our FREE UNLIMITED Wi-Fi.
Our three fully-equipped kitchens have a great layout for cooking and meeting other guests and they are all stocked with free tea & coffee. We also have a BBQ grill, games, books, puzzles, a TV, & lots of DVDs.
All of our dorm rooms have personal lockers with built-in power points so you can charge your electronic gadgets in total security. We also have USB plugs next to each dorm bed as well as a reading light.
Our friendly staff are more than happy to give you advice and information about the local area and the rest of New Zealand, tours, & activities.

Overall a nice stay. Good location 5 min walk from town centre and saw staff cleaning around a lot. Although, there was still a lot of clutter and sometimes still smelly in the fridge areas. Wifi was good in the main house, but unfortunately in the out house (which is where I stayed in) it would not connect at all after countless attempts and forced to use data or leave the room to access internet. This meant it wasn’t usable in the room which brought the overall mark down. However, would stay here again fo

Great location, definitely lucked out with getting a parking spot but parking anywhere in Queenstown (at least for us) looked like an absolute battle

Shared an 8 bed dorm but everyone was very considerate and even had little lockers under the bed to keep belongings (must bring own lock). Multiple kitchens to store food and cook. Very quiet overall and walking distance to everything.
