If you like rustic and authentic living and are looking for an off-the-beaten-path experience, then The Lake Hotel is a good place to stay. It's a few kilometers from the town of Penol, but there are several ways to get there. The lake makes a gorgeous backdrop.
Martha and Dennis are lovely hosts, genuine, helpful and thoughtful. Staying with them quickly felt like staying with old friends you haven't seen in a while. Both of them are excellent cooks.

Excellent place, beautiful view and amazing activities. I loved using the Paddle Board on the reservoir, and the hosts are very friendly and recommend what you can do to make the most of the trip (they also cook delicious). There is also fishing and artisanal pizza. I would repeat without hesitation!"
