This is a well-run hostel. The owner Zach met me during check in and have me some breadfruit. The compound is secure and the inner courtyard and facilities are clean and nice. My room was clean with towel and clean sheets. Most importantly, the WiFi was fabulous for the one day that I needed to work and so so for the second day. It worked. The one “con” about this place is the music is loud and will be on until midnight. I used to enjoy staying up partying but I’m older now and that’s not my thing. I would still give this place a great rating nevertheless.

I came for just one night. Since Covid is still rampant in Mexico there was only one other traveler in the hostel. The house is really beautiful with neat arched brick ceilings. I’d go again.
Thanks for sharing your experience, I really enjoyed your stay !! Happy Holidays!

Avoid this hostel! There were no staff to let me in. A guest luckily opened up the door for me. I had to find sheets and a towel for myself. The place was dirty. Avoid this place. Avoid this place. Avoid this place.

This city isn’t on the main tourist trail—and it should be! Taking into account this fact, I’m really surprised at how well this hostel is run and still maintains a nice vibe. They do a great job here. Rent your car in Tampico before you get here! Car rental prices in town are ridiculous.

This isn’t your swanky hostel with bar and lots of tourists. This is a family run AirBNB-like hotel where you know the money is going to the right person and not a rich business. Miguel was a treat to meet. He deserves your business.
Thank you very much!

Are the deluxe dorm beds worth the extra $10? Nah, but the hostel, it’s staff, location, breakfast and services are one of the best in Mexico. 64 countries under my belt. Stay here.

Besides the fact that the location is great and there’s a lot of beautiful plants, I cannot give a good review for this hostel. The dorm room was accessible to everyone; it was sandy; and the crowd that was in my room was so disruptive. Lights on/off throughout the night. People coming and going. Locals using the beds during the daytime. Can’t recommend.

I’ve been to 64 countries. This is the best hostel in Mexico after three separate trips. The reason why this place is special is you feel a family welcoming vibe the entire time—great social climate and there’s a professional chef who makes dinner every night. For $60 pesos you get meals that are $18 in the states. Fantastic

This place had a very Japanese zen garden feel to it. The bathrooms are bunks we’re clean.

Loved my stay. I stayed in a four bed bunk and immediately hit it off with my bunk mates. We traveled together for a few days after. The breakfast is hearty: eggs and beans every morning. The pool area is almost like a resort. My favorite part is the trees. Here you are in the middle of a concrete city and have huge trees all around. Beautiful

I stated here one night before catching the first early morning express bus to the airport. It worked out great. My only complaint was that internet didn't work in my room.
Thank you for your rating. We are glad you did enjoyed your stay at our place.

The hostel is located behind a bar. Reception was great. The hallways of the hostel were lined with boxes for the restaurant: empty beer bottles, etc. so, people from the restaurant would be in and out of the hotel. It seemed less safe. Sheets were clean. The dorm was packed full. I made the major mistake of not checking if there are age restrictions. There aren't! I randomly had a guy in his 70s in our dorm snoring all night. You probably won't have that.

This hostel is run by a nice couple. They were on it. The rooms and facilities were clean. Breakfast was your standard cereal and milk. The best part about this hostel is the fact that the dorm rooms are huge: vaulted ceilings, only a few beds per room.

The staff was great. The location is awesome as well. Things just seemed kind of dirty everywhere. With the exception of the sheets being, I don't think the hostel is cleaned daily.

This is a well run, and organized hostel. The bathrooms, rooms and style are very clean and up to date. The location was outside the city walls which means you can actually sleep. The only downside is that there's a very small commons area. But, I highly recommend this place.

This place is great. The location is amazing. The one down side is you have to call reception to have him come let you in. I do not have a data plan, so I was lucky to have some other guest let me in.

This hostel has the best common room and general facilities that I've seen in some time. I've traveled to 65 countries. Reception was prompt, and even spot cleaned our bathroom. We had a twin room. I highly recommend this hostel.

So, my favorite part about this place is the fact that the guy at reception sounds like he's Dracula. No joke. 😊 we had a great stay.

At first reception said that they had given away our room, but then 30 minutes later it was now available. Does not make sense. If we have money and a booking, take it. Besides this, it was a good stay.

The hostel failed in the mist important way possible: they gave away our reservation to someone else! Receiving this news at 11 pm was very frustrating. Then, to make it worse, the owner got on the phone with another hostel and promised my buddy and me a private room somewhere else. When we got to the new hostel there was no room.

I loved staying at this hostel. It's brand new which means everything is really clean: the bed, sheets, etc. The location is central. The common are was terrific. You will meet others here; but won't here them at midnight. Stay here.

This place really needed a cleaning. The bathrooms were filthy. The common room felt like it was stale, old.

The capsul rooms were stinky and moldy. The reception at the front desk was curt and unkind. Don't stay here.
